So is His Dark Majesty what Fire Emblem might have looked like 30 years ago? Described by its creators as “a story-driven turn-based strategy game that takes the core elements of Advance Wars”, that would seem to be the intent.
His Dark Majesty is freeware; but as it was initially programmed for Atari homebrew, you will need an emulator to run it. Fans have suggested AtariWin800, but be forewarned of oncoming language barriers.
