You wouldn’t know it just by sweeping a glance across the landscape, but the post-apocalyptic future is apparently pretty damn crowded.

Underrail’s genetic makeup might resonate with anyone who’s owned a gaming PC since the 90’s. So what’s to set this wasteland apart from those other Brand X wastelands? To sum: trains. Forgoing the windswept, retro-futuristic territory that you’re used to, Underrail’s desperate denizens must contend to a life of hardship under the rails.

In further distancing itself from its thematic ancestors, Underrail incorporates a little bit of the fantastic in its setting by granting character abilities not often seen with futurist speculation: the ability to use extranormal skills, i.e. telekinesis.

Creators StygSoft haven’t announced even a projected release date, but there are plans to release the demo in August.
